Do you have cookies in stock ?
No, all cookies are made to order according to the customer's specifications. You choose the color, shape, design, text, and I create the precise cookie for you.
How can you guarantee that it is peanut and nut free?
My son has a severe peanut and nut allergy. There is no need for worry about cross contamination because we don't have any peanut or nut products around!
Where can I buy your cookies?
Pieces Gift store in Steveston sells seasonal cookies. Their address is #100-3580 Moncton Street. Cookies can be purchased with no minimum amount during the weeks leading up to Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving.
How much advance notice do you need for an order?
I require at least 5 days advance notice. For larger orders I would require 2 weeks notice. However, rush orders can sometimes be accommodated. Email me with specific inquiries.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a deposit of 50% of the order is required at the time of booking to reserve the date. The balance is due upon pick up.
What forms of payment are accepted?
I accept credit cards, cash or cheque payments made payable to Heidi Thorsteinson. Credit card payments are processed using Paypal's secure credit card processing. Customers do not need a Paypal account to pay by credit card. A minimal fee of 3% of the amount owing is added to all credit card payments.
How long will my cookies stay fresh?
The cookies are best if consumed within two weeks of pickup, yet are good for up to four weeks when kept in the cellophane bag it comes in. Freezing of the cookies is not recomended.
Do you have a minimum order?
The minimum order is 12 cookies of the same design.
For orders of Chocolate, Shortbread and Ginger there is a minimum order of 24 cookies of the same design.
Which flavors do the cookies come in?
I offer four flavors: Butter-Sugar, Chocolate, Shortbread and Ginger.
What ingredients are in the cookies and icing?
Decorated Sugar Cookies: butter, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt,eggs, pure vanilla extract, meringue powder, icing sugar, gel colors
Decorated Chocolate Cookies: butter, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cocoa, eggs, pure vanilla extract,meringue powder,icing sugar and gel colors.
Decorated Gingerbread Cookies: butter, flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, molasses, eggs, pure vanilla extract, meringue powder, icing sugar and gel colors.
Decorated Shortbread Cookies: butter,flour,cornstarch, sugar,salt,pure vanilla extract,meringue powder,icing sugar and gel colors
For Image Cookies, the frosting sheets are made of Corn starch, Corn syrup, Micro crystalline Cellulose, Water, Sugar, Glycerin, Polyglycerol Esters of Fatty Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Locust Bean Gum. It may also contain FD&C Colors.
Edible Inks are made of water,propylene glycol,glycerins,may contain the following colors: Red 3,Blue 1,Yellow 5, Yellow 6. May also contain any or all of the following isopropyl alcohol, polysorbate 80, food grade silicone emulsion.
How do you print the images and logos?
A special printer that uses food coloring prints on frosting sheets not rice paper. Frosting sheets provides the highest quality image and have no flavor or taste.
Can I use any photo?
Yes. You can use any black & white or color photo, or anything you think would look good on a cake. Of course the better quality the picture, the better the results will be. I cannot print copyrighted photos (e.g. wedding photos) without WRITTEN permission from the photographer. Most photographers will gladly give their consent.Image editing and personalized text can also be added.

Can I have my cookies delivered?
Yes, cookie delivery is available with the following charges:
Steveston area: Complimentary
Richmond Area:$10 and up
Vancouver:$20 and up
West and North Vancouver $28 and up
Surrey and Langley $28 and up
Do you ship cookies?
Heidi's cookies have been enjoyed in Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Edmonton, Calgary, Denman Island, Gibsons, Victoria & Nanaimo, Shipping is done via Fed Ex overnight at YOUR expense. I do not charge a handling fee, whatever Fed Ex charges is what you will pay for in shipping. Please be aware that there will be a minimum charge for the packing materials used .
For corporate giving, it is best to provide me with your account number with Fed Ex, UPS or your preferred courier ( I recommend a courier that can deliver overnight).
